## Building

- [Porting trolz.dk to plain HTML](https://www.trolz.dk/speed): One hand-written file per page, no framework, no build, 14 KB budget. Chasing the cheapest and fastest portfolio page that still looks like someone cared.
- [Dogfooding pergrn.com](https://pergrn.com): Using it daily, mainly as a place to unload thoughts on my different projects. I use the MCP through my Hermes personal assistant bot for this.
- A realtime puzzle game set in Japan in the 1700s: Built on real lore from the period, with my own story running alongside it.
- herdr-ledger: Tracks the agents and skills I run: what each one costs in money and time, and what the work was like.
- Small Sparks: A React Native app of conversation starters for parents and kids. Nearly finished, launch sequence ready.

## Reading and writing

- Reading *The Laws of Human Nature* by Robert Greene

- An essay on European software craft: Drafting. The argument: as AI compresses execution cost, European craft sensibility (Lego, B&O, Hermès) is replacing Silicon Valley blitzscale as the dominant aesthetic in software.
- Yjs migration teardown: Drafted, queued for Substack. Why Yjs over plain Broadcast, the atomic-seed SQL, the offline reconnect failure mode, the React StrictMode gotchas.
- [Letters](https://www.trolz.dk/letters): Irregular long-form on software, craft, and the AI era. Three posts in April. New ones queued.

## Thoughts and life

- How AI makes it possible to build insanely lean websites, and making this one prove it
- Making **Brand Manager** a place to manage your brand rather than a place to build one
- Karri Saarinen's pivot from issue tracker to context infrastructure for agents

- A new roof on the farmhouse: About 95% done ripping the old one off and putting the new one on. The remaining 5% is, as always, the slow part.
